Vicky Bryant
Vicky is the first athlete from Chester-le-street Rowing Club to represent her country at international level, having won GB vests at both junior and U23 levels. She was selected in the women's eight for the 2009 World U23 Championships, where she won a gold medal.
At the 2008 World U23 Championships Vicky won a bronze medal in the four and also in the same boat class at the 2007 World U23 Championships. She also won bronze at the 2005 World Junior Championships in the eight.
In January 2006 she was a member of the Great Britain squad that competed at the Youth Olympic Festival in Australia, where she won two gold medals – in the four and the eight, as well as a bronze in the pair. At the 2006 Commonwealth Regatta in Strathclyde, Vicky won a bronze in the women’s senior pairs event.
Vicky has also had significant domestic success. She won the women’s coxed four event at Women’s
She has graduated from Oxford Brookes University in Human Development and Education with Music. She now works part time while she focuses on rowing. She also plays the clarinet and piano.
Vicky intends to study for a PGCE in the future in order to fulfil her ambition of becoming a primary school teacher.
