Mark Earnshaw

Mark Earnshaw

Mark began his coaching career with the GB Rowing Team in 2002 as a Talent Development Coach with the Start Programme.  His base was in Reading and under his guidance several rowers have progressed into the senior squads including Alex Gregory, Sam Townsend, Bill Lucas and Natasha Page.

He has worked with the Men's Senior team since 2005.  Mark coached the men's double of Rowbotham and Wells who raced to a bronze medal at the 2006 Eton World Championships and also won bronze at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.

In 2008 Mark was appointed a High Performance Coach and in that role has worked with the Men's Sculling Squad building the double and quad with an interesting mix of young talent and the Olympic double from Beijing.  In the 2010 season he coached both boats which medalled at each World Cup.

Prior to this, Mark was a teacher of History at Evesham and coached rowing at the University of Bristol.
