Leonora Kennedy

At the 2011 European Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Leonora raced in the Women's eight, finishing 4th.

At the 2011 GB Rowing Team Senior Trials held on 16-17 April at Eton/Dorney, Leonora and crewmate Zoe Lee finished 6th in the women's pair.

In August 2010 Leonora became the FISU World University Rowing Champion in the women's four, along with Emily Taylor, Monica Relph and Zoe Lee.  The crew were first off the start and maintained their lead to win their gold medal by four seconds over Romania.

She raced in the women’s eight at the 2009 World U23 Championships, winning gold.

Leonora's parents and brothers all row, and she first started rowing whilst at school because her father, who competed at the 1976 and 1980 Olympics for Ireland, ran the local boat club.

Leonora originally studied Physiotherapy at Oxford Brookes University, but in September 2006 moved to Kingston University where she gained a BSC in Human Biology and Sports Science.  She is currently doing a Masters in Psychology at Kingston University.

Her aim is to compete at the 2012 and/or 2016 Olympic Games.

She plays the cello and piano to Grade 7.
