Imogen trialled for the GB Rowing Team for the first time in 2010 when she was considered for the lightweight women’s quad at the World Rowing Championships in New Zealand. She had been selected for the Scottish Commonwealth Rowing Championships squad but declined in order to continue with the GB squad.
Imogen first became involved in rowing at Inverness Rowing Club in 1995 after the club had appealed for small people to become coxes. It was not until 2003 in her second year at Glasgow University, where she studied for an MA in Philosophy and Politics, that Imogen took up sweep rowing at the University’s boat club, mainly in eights, although she did compete in the lightweight women’s four at EUSA.
After leaving university Imogen joined Clyde ARC and started to scull. In 2008 and 2009 Imogen competed at the Home Countries International Regatta and in 2009 she won the lightweight single at the British National Championships.
When not rowing, Imogen enjoys travelling, cooking, reading and hill walking.
